The perfect birthday gift
It is that time again! My birthday is coming up. In 3 weeks I will be tapping 'The Big 30'. Secretly I was dreading this for a long time, but now that it's getting closer I'm starting to accept it. After having already celebrated 29 birthdays, it is time to think about what I want to do for this birthday. Every year my friends and family ask me: "Anne, what would you like for your birthday?" Every year I answer a few options of what I would like to get, but this year I think it is something more difficult... I'm uninspired and my birthday is almost here, help!
Inspirationless and now...?
Not only do I have little inspiration when it comes to my birthday gifts, but also about how I would like to celebrate it. My friends and family are used to me throwing a fun party every year where everyone can get together and have a drink. This is often about 30 people. This year I want to do that differently. I notice that I would like to celebrate it on a smaller scale with the people immediately around me. I want to have the people around me that I am grateful for and those are the people who have been there for me over the past year. Conclusion: I do what I want and I only invite my dearest people.
I just created a group chat, because I always find it easier to talk... I nominated Isabel and Nura (my 2 best friends) as my co-organizers for my small birthday party. A little later Isabel calls me and she says: "It's nice and nice that you know how you want to celebrate, but what do you want as a gift?''. Before I could answer I heard Nura in the background. Nura said: ' "Yes, Anne... Do you already know something nice?" I had already thought of a few things last week and I gave them a few options. "Don't you already have all that?" Nura said. " Uhm, yes, that may be true." I indicate that it really doesn't matter to me what I get and that I'm fine with everything, as long as I can celebrate with them. They did agree with that, but I know Nura and Isabel are doing quite well and I know they will still come up with a great gift. Actually, you can't go wrong with things like a nice perfume, nice earrings or trendy shoes. I always say the choice is great.
The big day
The big day has arrived, today I turned 30. Hip Hip Hooray! I started the day quietly with a nice cup of coffee and the first congratulations already arrived on my phone. I used to like to congratulate everyone by phone, but hey... now with current technology you can't avoid sending a quick message. ;)
Like I said before, I'm going to celebrate small tonight. So I went to the supermarket and got some tasty drinks and snacks and then the fun would follow.
Oh, and speaking of those gifts. So last night I saw the most amazing boots EVER online. They are not only fashionable, but also water-repellent and comfortable. They are the Chelsea Boots for women from the Blundstone brand. I think this one is crazy. Maybe there's a chance that someone who knows me very well bought these boots for my birthday. If that is not the case, I will still order them myself, they are so cool. I have been in love with model 510 for some time now! This model is Chelsea boots for women, but also perfect for men! What I find so cute is that model 531 are the children's Chelsea boots from Blundstone..! So cute!!
The birthday gifts
The first people come in and it's a lot of fun after just five minutes. After about half an hour everyone is there and I receive the first gifts. I received a lovely perfume from Anouk and a very nice sweater from Naomi. I'm super happy with it. But now... the 'big' gift from Isabel and Nura, I'm curious...
The Chelsea Boots for women and men
I can't believe it, how is it possible... Isabel and Nura just bought me the exact Chelsea Boots I saw last night. I am excited and surprised at the same time. So you see, you have to get it from your friends. ;) I immediately put the boots on and they fit like a glove. I'll never take them off again. I secretly think I'm going to buy a few more, because they are so comfortable and I saw on the website that Blundstone has all kinds of different models. That's going to be shopping!
